im sure its been said already but as the election draws near more and more liberals will come out of the woodwork to shame people with a conscience to give away their vote to the democrats for free. i'm already seeing posts saying "why aren't people more concerned about a trump presidency?" you want to know why? it's because people already know he's bad. everyone already knows what he is and what he's done and what he'll do. there's nothing to discuss. he's a racist despotic worm of a man. there's nothing else to say.
biden is currently president. the genocide is happening under his watch. he's the one funding isra*l and arming them; he's sidestepped congress more than once to give them weapons. by oct. 27, the biden administration already knew that "Israel was regularly bombing buildings without solid intelligence that they were legitimate military targets." the state department/biden have engaged in atrocity propaganda, cast doubt on the legitimacy of the death toll recorded by the gaza health ministry, and so on. the united states is currently in the process of trying to pin the "war in gaza" on netanyahu (see sen. schumer's speech) after months of backing blatant genocide as a means to act as if they're "doing something" about the genocide (Instead of, say, threatening to cut off all aid to israel with the condition that all hostilities in gaza, the west bank, and occupied jerusalem are halted immediately and permanently, allowing palestinians freedom to travel, allowing aid into gaza, etc etc etc.)
the long and short of it is that liberals view their own lives as being worth more than palestinians'. that's it. they'll vote for another 4 years of the guy ushering in genocide and supporting apartheid + settler colonialism because he isn't outright attacking them (despite various laws and rulings happening both at the supreme court level and at the local level all over the country that will endanger people). they'll settle for the illusion of safety and security and shame anyone with a conscience and accuse them of "supporting the republicans" when in an actual democracy you would be able to use your vote as leverage to extract concessions from those who want to be elected. that's how it's supposed to fucking work.
democrats are not owed people's vote. if biden loses, it will be biden's fault; it will be his campaign's fault; it will be the democrats' fault. trump is bad; the republicans are bad. we already know this. this is not an endorsement of either. but if democrats are too cowardly and feckless and servile to the motivations of the american empire and never do anything for their constituents then why the fuck should anyone vote for them. you want to get mad at someone, why don't you do something useful and stop worrying about team-sports with a purely selfish basis and start hounding the people in power who are supposed to serve you, the voter.
#i think i already said this and frankly idc#uspol#📁.zip#to me personally it's abhorrent and vile to tell palestinians 'biden is facilitating the murder of your people culture and history but you#still have to vote for him!!1' like how is that not unbelievably callous and ghoulish#frankly speaking. a lot of this 'you should be concerned about trump' is going to turn into#blaming palestinians and arabs and muslims and anyone remotely with a conscience for biden's loss#instead of doing something productive like pushing for people in power to do something they'll nitpick and belittle#and tell palestinians + arabs and muslims + everyone who understands that genocide is bad that they SHOULD#settle for a decrepit genocidal monstrous freak who is CURRENTLY facilitating genocide because#it makes THEM feel better and they aren't personally threatened (yet) by the guy currently in power#any and all 'you're not taking trump seriously' comments should be met with extreme skepticism#because i promise i PROMISE that the vast majority of people unhappy with biden are not going to turn around and vote for trump#and if they do? well guess what THAT'S BIDEN'S FAULT! nevermind the vote uncommitted campaign that was very successful and#will be replicated in the near future. but liberals only care about asthetics and superficial and not#about real material change which is why they'll dress up their callousness and racism in a 'you hate gay people if you dont vote for biden'#like this country is already going to shit we are rapidly descending into fascism and i dont see biden doing anything to even remotely#challenge it do you???? once agian. NOT an endorsement of the republican party but my GOD when the 'lesser evil'#is DOING the evil or normalizing the evil then you cannot settle for 'the lesser'! end of story.

anti muslim armand readings are deeply unimaginative, conservative and lack the most basic reading on 1500s delhi and the south asian subcontinent. and i’m not just saying this because i’m a queer muslim myself and would like to see the writers at least try to tackle this because of my own biases towards queer muslims lol.

I would like to have Black and Arab friends ready to transform me physically and mentally into one of theirs. I would like to transform myself into a muscular Black or a fat Arab. I am ready to obey my Black and Arab brothers to be transformed into one of them regardless of the means used.

Still thinking about the interaction I had over the weekend (where there was genuine right wing unrest in my city waheyy) where I popped a message onto my colleagues-but-we're-friends-we-go-for-drinks-and-dinner-sonetimes chat to make sure ppl were staying safe (many of us are of various minority groups) and I get a bit salty about how the police were mostly being shit and harassing the counter-protestors and one person pipes up with 'I don't subscribe to the acab thing sorry 😂' after talking about how many police were injured in other unrest and like.
I had to fully disengage myself because I work with and am friendly with these folks but sometimes you get smacked in the head with an opinion and suddenly lose the trust and respect you'd been building for someone over the last year huh

I'm saying this as a queer person from the middle east who lived 2 streets away from a religiously-motivated anti-trans death when I lived overseas.
Even the cishet people overseas, even the homophobic ones, do not deserve to be bombed. If you genuinely can't care for these people, to see their humanity in spite of their bigoted views, and to understand at the very least that they *do not deserve genocide*, you're a worse person than most of them. When I lived overseas, most of the religiously motivated hate crimes were honor-killings within the family. I come from a pretty progressive region but even those from outside, generally, only took issue when it was in their family. Many spoke out against the militant organized murder of queer people (a la ISIS) and *died* because of it. The same people who thought killing their own family was justified due to homophobia understood that the large-scale structural genocide was too far and untenable.
This doesn't absolve them of their homophobia (I can never return home for fear of transphobic reprisal) but hear me when I say that they wouldn't do this to you. The vast majority wouldn't look at genocide and say "that's not my business". I say this as part of a population that faced Arab-perpetrated genocide *in my lifetime*. Witnessing their humanity should not be conditional on solidarity. Solidarity should not be based in perfect mutual conduct, because that makes it too easy to disrupt and break. Progress and accountability happens when stability and safety is achieved, not when facing the barrel of a gun.
And to wash your hands clean of genocide and block off that empathy for your fellow human? I genuinely view you as no better than a fascist. Tff tff tff
it infuriates me so much when people pull out the "I can't support a country going through genocide/colonialism because they hate the LGBT community" so, somehow you understand that there are anti LGBT laws in these places yet you can't comprehend that there would also be people part of the community in these places????? and when I brought this up I was told I'm trying to be holier than thou and my tone was abusive!!!!!! BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU PEOPLE DO!!!! and gag is, there are anti LGBT laws (many of which in the process of trying to get passed) in places like the US and UK - it's always just an excuse to be racist. because why do you even need to tell a Palestinian that you want all of their people dead because you don't believe there are trans Palestinians....

Deleted the post earlier bc I thought I was being stupid, but after seeing this shit for the fifth time in a half hour, I have to say that I really wish I lived in the supposed universe that the "anti-woke" people claim to live in by saying they can't have freedom of speech anymore because they can't be racist or homophobic or transphobic anymore or else they'll "be cancelled"

i think the whole "~bad people~ deserve ~bad things~" mentality has lead to a lot of misinformation, dehumanization, infantilization n straight up historical revisionism in progressive spaces. bc they then feel the need to treat marginalized individuals and communities as perfect, harmless *things*, in order to explain why they dont "deserve" oppression. it cant be because oppression isnt something you can "deserve". its not a punishment. so they act like most lesbians actually loveeeee trans women (and ignore how that hasnt been the case, neither historically or in the present), how people from the southern us arent *actually* racist, its just misconceptions, how religious jews and muslims actually respect and uplift women, how every colonized culture on earth actually respects gay and trans people, its all just colonialist propaganda, how (culture/group) re actually not at all antisemitic, its just what They want you to think. theyre trying to help by spreading around idealized, almost orientalist notions about marginalized communities. but when has that ever helped anyone? marginalized individuals and groups can never "deserve" oppression, colonialism, genocide, because they are human. your desire to punish "the bad guys" has come before your human decency. you dont work towards equal, peaceful, and full lives for everyone on earth, youre just searching for a group you can "justifiably" enact violence against. youre not even acting against oppression, youre just erasing the experiences and making it harder for marginalized people from these communities.

So if it's okay for religious business owners to refuse services to gay people because they don't like them, do I have the right to refuse services to religious people because I don't like them?
Ah see I love these questions because I know you think this is some sort of gotcha and the cool part is that it just shows how little you know about the subject.
You can't refuse general service but you can refuse commissioned speech. If I walk into your bakery tomorrow to buy a plain cake off the shelf, you have to treat me the same way you would treat the next guy who walks in. If I walk into your bakery to place an order for a cake that says Heil Hitler, you have every right to tell me to fuck off.
You can't refuse to sell me a t shirt with Mickey Mouse on it because I'm an atheist but you can refuse to custom make a shirt for me that says God is dead. You can't refuse to sell me a concert poster because I'm not Muslim but you can refuse to print one for me with the prophet Muhammad drawn on it. You can't refuse to make me a website for a coffee shop because I'm white but you can refuse to make me a website that promotes white supremacy.
Do you see the difference? Or should I keep going? This really isn't that hard to grasp. You are not entitled to buy someone else's speech.
